I added this line to my /etc/apt/sources.list: deb ftp://ftp.informatik.hu-berlin.de/pub/Java/Linux/debian/ testing main non-free After this, I installed j2re1.4 (Blackdown Java 2 RE) and all the packages it depends on with aptitude.
