Device Drivers -> Networking Support -> Ethernet (10 or 100 MBit)
  - Generic Media Independent Interface device support
  - RealTek RTL-8139 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter support
 
PC - These drivers are already selected.
 
Note that if you go to Help for an option, you will see the CONFIG_ style
name for that option.

Edit /etc/default/bootlogd and make sure BOOTLOGD_ENABLE is set to yes. Then
your boot messages will be logged in /var/log/boot.
 
PC – There is no bootlogd file in /etc/default
