I have a Compaq Evo N800v portable pc endowed of its own docking station
to connect an external monitor, mouse and keyboard to the pc.
The pc runs both Win XP and Debian testing with which I usually work with
the kde desktop.
Till yesterday with XFree86 4.2 it all worked fine that is what I saw under
the kde desktop on the portable pc's screen was the same as that I could
see on the external monitor.
After updating debian testing (apt-get update; apt-get upgrade) I've found
a new XFree version (4.3. ).
Unfortunately it now happens that on the external monitor I see only a portion
(roughly a quarter?) of what I can see on the portable screen which is still
correctly represented at 1024x768.
Take into account that:
1) Updating debian testing has been my only variation to the system;
2) both monitors work as expected under Win XP.

What in your opinion has happened and could you suggest any way out?
