I am trying to get SASL running with Postfix on Debian. I would like to authenticate against /etc/passwd, but I only have a few users and they don't change often so any mechanism would be okay. I have the following in /etc/postfix/sasl/smtpd.conf and /usr/lib/sasl/smtpd.conf:
pwcheck_method: passwd mech_list: PLAIN LOGIN I am getting the following error in syslog: postfix/smtpd[3072]: fatal: no SASL authentication mechanisms Does anyone have this working?
