I'm using a sil0680-based pci card for two additional drives, but I'm using software raid. The sil0680 is automatically recognised by the 2.4.24-1 kernel presently in backports. I don't know if the on-board raid works with this driver, though, as I've not tried it. Some dmesg here fyi: ...
