how to install an ftp server

I have a new install of woody from the mini-iso with internet connectivity 
and dns working through a gateway on my lan, sshd is working fine too and 
now I want to have an ftp server running.

woody:~# which ftpd
woody:~# whereis ftpd
ftpd:
woody:~#
Is this telling me that there is no ftp daemon currently installed? What do 
I do to get this going?
