I am wondering if this might be an alpine error?
Reason why I feel this is because I get that one too. at least for my
office dreamhost compile of alpine.
Sometimes I get it with the alpine build associated with my gmail imap
configuration, but it happens most with alpine in dreamhost.
Are you using a fastmail tool where the error happens as well?
