Hi All: This problem is becoming much worse. Over the last 20years there are
certainly messages in comp.mail.pine but with no solutions. Some1 suggested I
run a debug. Well, among several inbox closings last night-and-this morning,
there is a line which says
IMAP 07:16:21 10/8 mm_log error: [CLOSED] IMAP connection lost
Also, at times my Wife on a windows11 with Alpine through Ubuntu has a similar
issue, but she is on Panix. I asked Fastmail, they say its an Alpine issue.
When this happens, I can still see an index of messages but cannot read the
body of any of them. There are realy 2 related inconveniences here. #1 the
frequency this is happening, this morning maybe 3times in half-and-hour. #2 I
have a large inbox-and-use an aggregate command to mark messages for deletion,
but after an inbox is closed, those marks are gone. I had my Linux expert ask
an AI agent about this? It said it was a permissions issue. Please, I welcome
any helpful suggestions in how to fix this or maybe switch away from IMAP. O,
