Yes, it is possible and I currently make use of this by running Linux
6.1 to work around a still unresolved bug that blocks me from using
anything 6.8+ <https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1112238>
Well, I solved my problem without having to downgrade the kernel.
The NVidia 470 driver doesn't install properly on Trixie's 6.12 kernel.
But I found a handful of nifty patches provided by the good folks at
Slackware Linux:

I applied these, and now the legacy NVidia driver works like a charm on
Debian Trixie.
Cheers,
Niki
