Not sure how easy this is to rebuild with the right library. I might have tried straight from the upstream source. It's also on flathub if you use flatpak. I took the opportunity to switch to smplayer, which seems a lot better.
Yeah I found ffplay and totem did a pretty good job. Mind you I'm using vlc as an rtsp server as well. I hope that doesn't break. I'll need to find a new one.
