One thing that is interesting to note is that sometimes several terminal emulators are based on the same library, so they mostly work the same, have (or lack) the same features & bugs, etc.--except for anything related to the application around the actual terminal emulator, of course. * libvte (used in most Gtk-based terminal emulators, including Gnome Terminal, Gnome Console, XFCE Terminal, lxterminal, Guake, Blackbox, Sakura, Sugar, Terminator, Tilda, Tilix, …) * konsole-kpart (used in some KDE-based ones) * qml-module-termwidget (used in QML-based Qt/KDE applications) * libqtermwidget (used in other Qt applications) * … etc? Maybe a useful addition to note that with each terminal emulator? (You can usually figure out what library is used from a package's dependencies in Debian, for those that are packaged there, or working the other way around looking at reverse dependencies on the libraries and/or language bindings for the libraries.) -- Jan Claeys (please don't CC me when replying to the list)
