No. Almost everything about XFCE is configurable through its
control panel / settings manager.

Nice.
I'd consider a desktop environment as a thing offering a menu to start a
program you want to use and so the simpler the better.
XFCE is grand. There was some effort to find where to change font sizes
in the windows and terminal but I think that's it.
