I note your signature says "(please don't CC me when replying to the list)"
but when I reply to your email, you are in the To field, and the list is in
the CC field. I'm not sure what to do with this. I decided to remove you from
the To field. I hope that's correct.
Good mailers have different reply modes. "reply" use only From, "wide
reply" use also Cc and adresses from To (I think you used this one), and
"reply to list" which is the good one to use. If you don't have it and
don't want to change your mailer, manually remove adresses from To is the
right option.
For the above message,
Thunderbird has "Reply" and "Reply List" in the tabs at the top of the
particular displayed message.
In right clicking (non-dominant mouse button) on the message in the
message index, the three options are displayed in the Reply sub-menu;
Reply To Sender Only
Reply to All
and
Reply To List
Some people on mailing lists, simply use "Reply To All", which
compounds, and, can end up with everyone who has posted in a thread,
being "cc'd", in addition to receiving the copy distributed by the
mailing list software, in responses to messages posted to mailing lists.
Users need to check to what or to whom, messages are addressed, before
sending messages.
Otherwise, the sender of a message, may facilitate a security breach on
the sender's computer (and LAN), and, may facilitate the dissemination
of information or comments, that go to the unintended people, causing
significant problems.
Communications are powerful, and, should be used responsibly.
When a person drives a motor vehicle, the person usually checks where
the person is going, before departing.
The same should be done for sending email and other communications.
