Libreoffice generally works - but you could always try Gnumeric from the GNOME project. It does help if you can try things for yourself if this is practicable and *then* come back and say "X worked, Y didn't work". Some assembly required, as they say, or at least a willingness to show and share your workings to allow the rest of us to see *exactly* what you are talking about.
