If the mail is in text/plain without format=flowed, then “less than 80 even with a few quote marks in front” IS the etiquette, it has been for decades, whether you want it or not. And that is not just cargo cult: text/plain is not meant to be rewrapped, rewrapping it could lose information deliberately put there by the author. It should be readable as is, and this limit not only matches the width of old terminals, it is also the point where average human eyes start losing alignment. Regards, -- Nicolas George
