Ahem. rsync is not a backup tool. rsync can be *part of* a backup tool, for example in rsnapshot, or manually with filesystem snapshots, but rsync alone does not allow you to recover a file you damaged, which is part of the job description of a backup tool. Regards, -- Nicolas George
