You have a machine which has an Nvidia card in it - does it also have Intel graphics as well? If so, you may need to look at how to install ??Prime/bumblebee?? In order to do this, you may need to reinstall / fully disable the nouveau driver and then continue. If you choose to install the proprietary Nvidia drivers - these taint the kernel and so you may have issues with secure boot and enrolling keys.
