I have multiple cables and an extra laptop. Let me try as many
combinations as possible. And report here.

Where are the Wayland logs? I have a freshly installed Debian 11 and
default is Wayland.

The problem timing is very random so I am not sure if I can diagnose
anything by changing ports.
