My reason for being interested in anaconda-debian is kickstart, that's the entire reason, the only reason. I agree that debian-installer is the way to go for a normal Debian install and I have done several test installs with it over the past 6 months. However, AFAIK debian-installer still doesn't support unattended installs (or perhaps they just aren't documented?). I can understand progeny's reasons for doing the anaconda port somewhat but I don't see why they wouldn't have been better served by helped d-i and then getting it ported to work with redhat.
