That sounds even more bother than changing it now! I'm quite happy with what I have got - but if Debian wants me to use something else, it should make it easier than the present options, not harder. Still, I hadn't noticed this - years of going straight to Europe/UK. I'll look out for it next time. So perhaps I wouldn't have noticed the addition of redir even if it had been there.
