So, to sum it up: In my particular situation where I have a separate
partition for /home/ , the best "upgrade" would be:

1. Installing a brand new Debian but leaving /home/<USER> intact.
2. Deleting all the config stuff with `rm -rf /home/<USER>/.[a-z0-9]*`
3. Done.

Have I missed anything?
