I'm not that sure. Reasonable people tend to be much unwise when time comes to work together (as one of our regretted humorist (Raymond Devos) said: put 10 wise people together, you'll obtain a fool;) With a little luck, there'll be a fork; without it and with almost any distro using that, safety will be in another OS :( What I don't understand is Debian leaving the alternative behind, this _doesn't_ sounds the Debian's way.
