The new kernel is modular and so you need to specify your drivers in /etc/modules. Use 'modconf'. lspci What ethernet device do you have? Locate that and use modconf to modprobe it and to put it into /etc/modules. modconf Page down to where it says "kernel/drivers/net" and the driver you want should either be near that or in that submenu item. If you don't see it at the top level then select the submenu and browse the drivers below. It should be there. It is unfortunate that all of the drivers are not in a consistent location. But so it is. As long as you are there, add your audio drivers as well. Note your audio device from lspci and then select the driver. If you have trouble determining what driver to use then post your lspci output and we can figure it out from that. Bob
