Why wait? Install Wheezy now. It's frozen and more than stable enough. I did
about 2 months ago under the Beta installer, and haven't had any problems: No
crashes; freezes; etc. However, I opted for just a window
manager--Openbox--for "lightness" instead of the full GNOME3 desktop which I
hate, and in any case, only works in "fallback" mode due to either the graphics
card (EVGA GeForce 8400GS) or, most likely, the default noveau driver. I
haven't gotten around to installing the proprietary nVidia driver anyway, if I
ever do. The system works fine as it is.
To keep it current, and eventually upgrade to stable, you'll need to figure out
a way to "apt-get update, apt-get dist-upgrade" it. Maybe, add a DVD-RW disk
for update packages to the full install DVD.
