Phatetic at best? It depends on the game IMHO.

Thats Ivybridge according to:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core 
processor Graphics Controller (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

Even Sandybridge is enough to play Supertuxkart, Freedroid RPG and others 
at Full HD.

Heck, even Planeshift is quite smooth, except for the magic spell graphic 
effects.

Ivybridge should about be twice as fast in many situations from what I 
read.

So granted its likely not anynear that fast as the NVidia with its 
proprietary driver, but its also not pathetic in my view, but quite good 
for integrated graphics.
