There's a post to that bug that claims you can take the packages from Linux
Mint Debian Edition and run them on Debian testing/unstable. This is true.
I installed the following .debs:

cinnamon_1.4.0-lmde1_amd64.deb
gir1.2-muffin-3.0_1.0.2-lmde1_amd64.deb
libmuffin0_1.0.2-lmde1_amd64.deb
muffin-common_1.0.2-lmde1_all.deb

No need to add Linux Mint as an apt source, those four packages are all that
are needed extra.
