How bad ;-( Being network an indispensable service for todays computers, I always add a secondary NIC on my systems to avoid these kind of problems, so if the embedded gigabit board (usually an Intel one) has any problem I can still use the secondary PCI-based (with a different chipset, usually a Realtek one) :-) Anyway, to get the problem solved as soon as possible, you can add yourself to the upstream bug (should you think you're having the same problem) and append your data there.
