It seems there are several bugs with this netword chip. I found a related page on a forum here: http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/hardware/461975-default-driver-realtek-rtl8111e-chip-ethernet-does-not-work.html which gave me a piece of help. So I tried, like they said, to install the official drivers from the realtek website here: http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#2 The installation was succesful, the module can be loaded by the kernel. But unfortunately I have extactly the same problems... strangely... I am sure it is not because I use the same modules since they don't have the same name: the old one was r8169 and the new one is r8168...
