Oops, so everything regarding to audio using jackd for your machine appears to be ok. I never used wsjt myself. If you now would launch wsjt, the card would be kicked out? I'm puzzled. Is the package pulseaudio installed? If so, I would test what happens if it's removed. OTOH I wonder why your Debian was ok before you did the upgrade. Hm?
