Hey List,

I am using Debian Wheezy, & recently purchased a Western Digital "My Book
Essential" external hard drive (2TB). It is powered by an external power
adapter.

When i initially plugged it in & attached it to my computer (while my
computer was already booted to my desktop), Wheezy read it just fine.

I opened Gnome's Disk Utility & checked to be sure it said 2TB & all seemed
fine.

I was then able to CUT about 100Gigs from an internal hard drive, & PASTE it
onto the device.

Then i CUT another 400Gigs & was able to PASTE only about 350Gigs when i
encountered an I/O error.

Unfortunately, I didn't take a screenshot of the error. I later discovered
that all the data had made it safely to the External Drive, & the remaining
50Gigs was still on the internal disk (and was all able to be read just as
it was).

The next thing i did was go back into the External Hard Drive via Disk
Utility, & unmounted it. Shut it completely off... and rebooted my computer.

Now, when i plug the external Hard drive into my computer it doesn't mount
or appear in Nautilus.

Below I have posted log files from message, system, and daemon.

Perhaps for a more readable format, i have also posted the same logs on
pastebin here - http://pastebin.com/2LivNH6T

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem? I tried Googling
the log entries to no avail.

I also don't have another computer in the house to see if the external drive
is fine otherwise, because all i have is a netbook running debian, too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! If there is any other information i
could post to maybe track down the issue, please let me know!

Best,

shuttah
