Yep, sure is different! I have no /etc/conf.d or /etc/conf.avail directories at 
all!!

There is a nice /etc/fonts directory now. The conf.d and conf.avail is in 
there, and neither of them mention all the texmf and texlive fonts.

I think I saw a message from a Debian texlive maintainer (Norbert??) that since 
many of these fonts don't work with fontconfig, this is not activated 'out of 
the box' ... also if you do searches for this, other people are talking about 
it, Red Hat is enabling it ... I wonder how useful and how easy it would be to 
add all or some of these fonts. TeX has SOO many fonts, so it would be awesome 
to add them to X!!
