We are internally debating whether to install the 64bit port on our

Are there any reasons to NOT use the 64bit port?
Sure, there still some applications that are not natively ported to 64
bits, like Skype (recently cited in the list) or Mozilla products.
Or if you have only a 32bit package that is a requirement for something.
E.g. hyperlatex that needs emacs22 in Sid which I have only in 32bit
and that I don't want to be without. But my CPU% only goes to 54% :-(
