This is getting frustrating. I managed to get KDE upgraded to KDE3.1.3 from KDE.org site. Running startx I get the KDE spash screen and the various initializations, I get the Kandalphs (or whatever) tips window, but after that no desktop, blank. CTL-ALT-BS still takes me out. I dont see anything in /var/log/messages ro /var/log/kdm.log.
