I use Amarok as well. I don't have it up that often because it takes
quite a bit of memory and cpu footprint to run well. But just this
afternoon I had decided to give amarok another try and see if I can
get it to sync tracks to my iriver t30 (configure Amarok to use an mtp
device/plugin), and the upshot is that it seems to be able to, but
with some difficulty. I was at least able to send one file to the
device with Amarok, and it appears in a separate playlist, and I can
see some of the files on the device itself, but most are missing or
blank, as far as Amarok is concerned. The device is OK otherwise.

When I tried transferring one file (successfully, I found, after the
fact) this strange error appeared on the terminal I started Amarok
from:

PTP: Opening session
Unknown OPFF type 5

[2]+ Done amarok

Amarok does otherwise seem to detect the device fine, and tells me how
much free space there is on the device (and it's not a 'disk full'
problem).

I never seemed to be able to get gtkpod to work with my T30, and
although gnomad2 works, it is very slow to star up.
