Musch faster then a > logout/login. Executing . .bash_profile makes no difference. The new dir won't show up in another session, only if I open a new bash window, but never in a new session. The only thing concerning .bashrc in .bash_profile are these lines: # include .bashrc if it exists if [ -f ~/.bashrc ]; then . ~/.bashrc fi But it actually is not much of a problem any more, coz I already found some solution. Nevertheless thanks for telling how to restart .bashrc & .bash_profile. I didn't know this. Greetings, Manon.
