Difference (from Xorg.#.log) is that before, the monitor was detected/specified and the video modes were thus valid. Now, the monitor, though spec'd in xorg.conf, is not detected/specified in the log. Thus, only some default mode works. I tried downgrading a few libraries that may touch this but to no avail, it did work with the newer ones before.
