Nope. Given the choice of "Americans" or "Brits" answer these questions.

1: Frankenstein's Monster comes to town and someone yells, "Lynch it, bring
your pitchforks and torches!" Who shoes up with pitchforks and rather chilly
electronic devices?

2: Which would wonder why their car is dead because they put oil into the
intake not under the hood?

1: Brits. Torches are a medieval light source while flashlights are a modern
one. One can't exactly set Frankenstein's Monster alight with most unmodified
consumer grade flashlights. A torch, however, will do quite nicely.

2: Brits. One puts gasoline into one's car. Gasoline is distilled from
petroleum (aka, oil). The short form of gasoline is gas not petrol, which is
the short form of petroleum. Putting oil in one's gas tank would be rather
nasty.
