I promote Debian a lot among local Linux users. They all like apt-get,
but every so often, one of them actually tried to install Debian, they
complain a lot about the installation process. And I have to comfort
them with difficulties.

As to my own last two experiences installing Debian. One is a common
server setup, which is just a breeze. The other is a desktop, which is
not cool at all.
