I am using fvwm with no dm. I have been working on this problem for a while and cannot seem to get it sorted. I have the line:
xrdb ~/.Xdefaults in my .xinitrc file. The settings in there, however, are not being read as I think they should. I have, in my .fvwm2rc file lines that start initially one rxvt and emacspeak. The initial rxvt is not getting the font or color settings, and the emacspeak is not getting the no menubar and no scrollbars settings. The lines are: emacs.verticalScrollBars: off emacs*menuBar: 0 rxvt*background: Black rxvt*foreground: White rxvt*cursorColor: White .... etc. There are other settings for emacs in the file, but they are also set in the .emacs file.
