I seem to have different root passwords: 1. If I 'su' at a command line, my root password works fine. 2. If I'm using KDE, I click on a Command Center icon, it prompts for a root password, it works fine. 3. If I'm in Gnome, I do the same and I get a 'bad password' dialog box.
