Very sorry to read that. Last summer, I got a beta woody CD (at Linuxtag, Stuttgart) for free and, essentially, installation worked well. (OK, my hardware is quite standard.) (And, it was in the summer holidays, and I spent some nights on it.) (And, I had to add some packages from ftp.) So now I have a system which I DO use for almost all purposes. And I learned a lot then and I'm still learning. Conclusion: I like linux and especially debian.
