The whole log would be useful. I don't see anything helpful in the part
you've sent already. Just that it didn't find your mouse, which you
already knew since the mouse was dead when you ran xf86cfg. It could be
that you have X looking for the mouse in the wrong place. (Usually
/dev/mouse is symlinked to the correct device, but not always, and the
correct device will vary according to the type of mouse you have (PS/2,
USB, or whatever). Other software such as gpm can also affect this. If
your intent is to run in X all the time, then you really don't need gpm
and might be better off getting rid of it to simplify the situation a
little.)

If you have access to a web or anonymous ftp server, putting the log
there might be better than mailing it to the list -- those things can be
rather large.

Also, would you please post your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file. This is
the core of your X configuration.
