package built and the driver worked(phew!) now im gonna go suggest a distribution compadiblity list for linuxprinting.org before i goto sleep. work more on my freebsd box tomorrow maybe i can get it to detect the port... printing is crystal clear though..at least on the test page..haven't tried anything but that yet. thanks nate
