I also recently started having trouble with cdrecord, but on a 2.4 kernel. I'm using an IDE CDR drive through ide-scsi on kernel version 2.4.17, Debian Woody. Burning data CDs seems to work fine. TAO audio CDs work too. But DAO audio CDs fail immediately. I used to be able to burn in DAO with no problems. A log is attached below (of a simulation run, but same thing happened when burning for real). Max
