Hello, Debian community!

Thanks thanks thanks for all your responses to my other posts. I am learning
much more like this than my Bachelor of Computer Science trash! :-P And I am
in my final terms... ahem.

What I would like to know now is this: I see from the list of distributors of
Debian CDs that there are no custom distros from the Australian vendors. And
I did see one custom distro maker, but they would not ship internationally. I
am very upset and I feel discriminated against!

I would like to know where I can get a custom distro of Debian made on CDs
for me with all the LDP documents in postscript as well, such as sag and nag,
etc. And of course they must come to me in Australia. And can you give me a
rough idea of how much I can expect to pay, for say a CD set of binaries for
my Pentium III, plus CDs of sources, plus docs, plus latest GNU stuff...
hehe.

I only have a 56K modem and its just impossible for me to sit there and
download all this myself, constantly redialling after my pathetic TWO isp
providers keep cutting me off, one is down and so use the other... then get
cut off again. Grrr!

Essentially I am looking for a CD set with these things, with the first CD
bootable and it will just run and install everything for me, except for the
GNU things and documentation and source code packages, which I will select
what I want and install manually.

The main things are, a 2.4.x kernel, iptables (latest), perl 5.6.1 or better,
GCC (C, C++, Java) 2.95.4, latest glibc, libstdc++, latest emacs, latest vim,
cron, at, all standard base packages that Debian uses, XFree86 4.0.1 + with
the NVIDIA drivers for my AGP card: Nvidia GeForce II MX 400 64MB. Plus
drivers for a SoundBlaster 128 Live (or just throw in a heap of SoundBlaster
compatible stuff, and I'll buy a card that works) plus drivers for my
particular scanner, printer and digital camera/video cam (I'll buy all these
to suit what Debian supports!) Plus Gnome, KDE, AfterStep, and their apps but
not the games or toys. The latest apache with mod_perl, mod_ssl, openssl,
mod_php4 (PHP 4.0.6 ? or better). And Blasa, Xchat, Mutt and other popular
packages. Looking also for a good FTP server, a news server, latest Sendmail,
and a proxy server. I want to run an anonymous proxy service when I move outa
here and get on my 1.5Mb/sec downstream - 256Kb/sec upstream ADSL connection.
I may also contribute to Debian by being an Australian mirror, if that
connection is good enough! This is the best I can afford.

Thanks heaps,

Happy New Year, fellow Debian freaks!!!
James
