There are a number of unrelated? font issues floating around. I've currently got the Gtk "doublebyte fonts render as rectangles" problem on at least one box here. I've been working through a checklist of things that worked the previous times I've dealt with this. libgnomeprint-data was one package involved, it's changed supbstantially, and has shown up earlier today on list as having problems.
