well, you might want to get a book or read some unix intro on 'net. man pages are more like a dictionary, not a best book to learn language... some of them have examples at the end... once you get used to unix a bit the man pages are easy to understand... you might also try to file wishlist bugs for the ones that are extra cryptic... erik
