Hi, I ve spent the past week donwloading 1-3 woody iso's and trying to install on a fresh system and iam unable to, everything goes fine untill it comes to actually installing the packages (it lists all the packages and prompts you to say Y/N to installing them), ive tried several differnent ways (from only scanning 1 cd, to selecting different packages using the simple method) and every time i get the following error after apt-get scans the packages for installation:
------------ 82% - (scanning packages) Template parse error near "" at /usr/lib/Perl5/Debian/Debconf/Template.pm line60 <Templates> chunk 3 E: sub-process /usr/sbin/dpkg -preconfigure --apt returned error code (29) E: Failure running script /usr/sbin/dkpg --preconfigure --apt -------------- Iam at my wits end trying to get it to install, ive tried 10 times now and everytime the same error, iam not sure if the percentage differes at all. But if i say 'Y' to get apt-get to try again, it also fails, so if i say 'NO' iam returned to the login screen (with just the very bare bones system and nothing really installed, so i cannot even use apt-get, then again it would mean installing the whole system, as nothing really got istalled). Any help would be really appresiated Cheers Mark -- -- Registered Linux User: 208939
