OD> what is the graphics controller chip you are using ??? OD> ---------- i use intel i810
You need agpgart module if you want normal resolutions to work on i810. It should be in latest versions of 2.2.x kernel (I use 2.2.18 and it does there) or 2.4.xx. Once you should load compiled agpgart module before starting X. You can also compile DRI support module if you wan fast 3d (but it is optional). OD> which XF86 are you using ?? There is single binary for all cards 'XFree86'. Try 'XFree86 -probeonly > logfile.txt 2>&1' and check logfile.
