i take it your using the binaries from mozilla.org? if so, when you unpack the binaries theres a subdirectory under mozilla,. the plugins dir. remove it and softlink /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins to $MOZDIR/plugins mozilla places the plugins in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins but only checks for its plugins in $MOZDIR/plugins
